New honour for Sree Sreenivasan

Sree Sreenivasan -- the first chief digital officer of New York City's famous Metropolitan Museum of Art -- has been appointed the inaugural visiting professor of digital innovation and audience engagement at the Stony Brook University school of journalism in New York state, Yoshita Singh/PTI reports.


Marshall R Loeb Visiting Professor of Digital Innovation and Audience Engagement, said Sree joined the journalism school on September 1.


Describing Sree as a 'consummate professional', interim dean of the Stony Brook University school of journalism Laura Lindenfeld said 'Sree's experience, creative approach and dedication to integrating high-quality journalism to the digital space is vital in today's news ecosystem.'


A former Columbia Journalism School professor for 20 years, Sree also served as the chief digital officer of Columbia University and the City of New York.
