Chinmayanand sent to 14 days jail

A local court on Friday sent BJP leader Chinmayanand to judicial custody for 14 days for allegedly raping a law student in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district.

A special investigation team, probing the allegations levelled by the student, arrested the leader earlier in the day, following which he was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate court. Chief Judicial Magistrate Om Veer sent the accused to Shahjahanpur district jail, where he will be lodged for 14 days. -- ANI
