Even as Ajit Pawar bats for the NCP-Congress government in Maharashtra, senior NCP leader Jayant Patil has appealed Pawar to return to the party fold.

"You are a founding member of the NCP. We all grew under (Sharad) Pawar saheb. But in the interest of the state, Pawar has taken a decision to not to go with the BJP. Respect that and come back," Patil tweeted replying to Ajit Pawar's tweet which claimed that he is still with the NCP after taking oath as deputy CM with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.

"I am in the NCP and shall always be in the NCP and @PawarSpeaks Saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the State and its people," Ajit Pawar tweeted.

However, Sharad Pawar said there was no question of an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Paryt in Maharashtra.
