Personnel of the Indian Army Service Corps perform a stunt on a motorcycle ahead of a military drill along with the United States army scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada next week.

The first tri-services India-US amphibious exercise, known as Tiger Triumph, will be held in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada from November 13-21.

Around 1,200 Indian soldiers, sailors and airmen and 500 of their US counterparts will participate in the nine-day exercise.

Training under Tiger Triumph will focus on developing counterterrorism, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief capabilities.

The exercise will include events and field training that simulate moving humanitarian assistance and disaster relief forces from ship to shore.

Part of the training will incorporate surface movements from ship-to-shore, where US and Indian forces will demonstrate naval integration, advance interoperability and exchange best practices.

INS Jalashwa, USS Germantown, INS Airavat and a survey vessel in a hospital ship role will participate.  -- Agencies
