118-year-old woman gets a pacemaker

In Punjab, Kartar Kaur Sangha, believed to be 118 years old (or so the family claims) was operated upon successfully and a pacemaker was implanted, at a hospital in Ludhiana. Dr Ravninder Singh says, "I saw her brother's (born in 1903) record and her daughter is 90. I found 2-3 records corroborating her age. To operate at this age was a challenge, but she is doing fine. We have applied to the Guinness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of Records."
