Jharkhand hate crime: 4 arrested, 1 absconding

The Jharkhand police has arrested 4 people in connection to the death of a 22-year-old man in Jharkhand. The police added that 1 accused is still absconding.

Shams Tabrez, was caught by a mob on Tuesday evening, tied to a pole and beaten for more than seven hours. According to his family, he was also forced to chant 'Jai Sri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman' by the mob.

He was then handed over to the police on Wednesday morning after he fell unconscious.

Tabrez was caught in Dhaktidih village while allegedly attempting to steal a motorcycle.
