PM's meet begins without key opposition parties

Meeting of heads of political parties begins in Parliament, under chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Janata Dal-Unietd's Nitish Kumar, National Conference's Farooq Abdullah, Shiromani Akali Dal's Sukhbir Singh Badal, Biju Janata Dal's Naveen Patnaik, People's Democratic Party's Mehbooba Mufti, Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party's Jagan Mohan Reddy present, among others.

Major opposition parties like the Congress, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Trinamool Congress, the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Telanaga Rashtra Samiti are not attending the meeting.

However, leaders of the Left parties are in attendance. -- ANI
