BJP's Virendra Kumar sworn-in as pro tem speaker

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Virendra Kumar takes oath as the pro tem Speaker of the 17th Lok Sabha, at Rashtrapati Bhawan, ahead of the first session of 17th Lok Sabha which will commence shortly.

He was administered the oath by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Virendra Kumar will oversee the oath-taking by 542 members of the lower House of the Parliament which will be held for the first two days of Budget Session.

He will be assisted by a panel of senior members including Kodikunnil Suresh and Bhatruhari Mahtab in overseeing the proceedings when members take oath on Monday and Tuesday. -- ANI
