US envoy who suspected Mossad hand in Gen Zia's death, passes away

John Gunther Dean, who lost his job as a US ambassador for suggesting that Mossad may have assassinated Pakistan's military dictator Zia-ul Haq, has died. 

Readers may like to read this Rediff article from August 2017 to know more about what Mr Dean -- who  also served as the US ambassador to India -- said about Israel and Zia's death in a mysterious plane crash in August 1988.
