With just 30 days left for the Union Budget 2019, the finance ministry is buzzing with activity as top officials plan to put together a financial plan to steer the economy out of difficulty.

Entry into the ministry has been restricted (to maintain secrecy) and work has already begun. Budget 2019 will pave the way forward for the Bharatiya Janata Party's economic policies.

Sources within the ministry have said that infrastructure and job creation will be the focal points for the upcoming budget. The budget will also focus on simplification of direct taxes and increasing compliance.

New Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a meeting where officials made a presentation about their departments; secretaries of the 5 departments were also in this meeting today.

The meeting revolved around plans ahead and the current economic situation. The upcoming budget will see a thrust on jobs too.
