Two MPs from the Samajwadi Party in the Rajya Sabha are expected to resign in the next one or two days. There is also speculation that three BSP MPs will follow suit.

Today, Neeraj Shekhar, son of former prime minister Chandra Shekhar, joined the BJP in the presence of its general secretaries Bhupendra Yadav and Anil Jain, a day after he quit Samajwadi Party and also resigned from the Rajya Sabha.

BJP leaders want these resignations to happen quietly and one at a time, so that the attention span of the media is drawn out.

It's also a political message to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati on Uttar Pradesh politics.

At the Central Hall in Parliament, senior BJP leaders JP Nadda and Bhupender Yadav were seated with Amar Singh and Naresh Agarwal and discussing the decimation of the Samajwadi Party in the Rajya Sabha.

It is an open secret that those who resign from the SP's Rajya Sabha MPs will get reelected but on a BJP ticket. With this, the BJP strength in the Rajya Sabha will increase.

BJP Chief Amit Shah with the assistance of Nadda have worked out a massive strategy to have a majority in the Rajya Sabha.

The triple talaq bill might be introduced in Rajya Sabha by the end of this week, but voting will be during the winter session of parliament, by which time the BJP will ensure that they get majority in the upper house.
