BJP MLA's daughter, husband to get security

The Allahabad High Court gives directions to the police for the protection of Sakshi Misra and her husband Ajitesh. Their lawyer says, "Only Ajitesh was beaten up. It's not known who were these people. But it proves that there is indeed a threat to their life for which they were seeking protection."

Sakshi, the daughter of an Uttar Pradesh BjP legislator, had alleged that her life was in danger from her father after she married a Dalit man and asked the police for security. Her father is the MLA from Bithari Chainpur in Bareilly district.

Earlier in the day, the couple had in fact been abducted from outside the court premises, but were rescued later.

Additional Director General of Prayagraj, SN Sabat, said the abductors were armed. The couple were rescued by the police in Fatehpur and the abductors were nabbed.
