Responding to ailing Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar's  letter, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that he hasn't shared details of their conversation but has referred to what is in public domain.

Rahul said that he understands the pressure Parrikar is in after their meeting yesterday.

"I empathise with your situation; I understand the immense pressure you are under after our meeting yesterday," he said in a statement.

He further said, "Pressure forced Parrikar to take unusual step of demonstrating loyalty to PM (Narendra Modi) and cronies by attacking me in uncharacteristic manner."

Gandhi was replying to Parrikar's letter, which slammed the Congress chief for politicising their 'five-minute meeting'.

Parrikar shot the letter to Gandhi after he targeted Modi over the Rafale deal, claiming that Parrikar, who is a former defence minister, had clearly stated that he has nothing to do with the 'new deal'.
