Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chairs Cabinet meeting at Prayagraj at the Kumbh Mela venue. He said the UP Cabinet has decided to build a Ganga-Expressway to connect Prayagraj with western Uttar Pradesh. "This will be world's longest expressway, approximately 600 km and will take 6,556 hectares of land. It will cost approximately Rs 36,000 crore," the CM said.

He said that the Ganga-Expressway will go through areas including Meerut-Amroha-Bulandshahr-Budaun-Shahjahanpur-Kannauj-Unnao-Raebareli-Pratapgarh and arrive at Prayagraj.

He said the film, Uri: The Surgical strike, will be exempt from state GST. "This film will instill a feeling of nationalism in the youth and the citizens of the country," he added.

The Chief Minister is expected to take a dip at the sangam after that.
This is the first time during Yogi Adityanath's tenure as Chief Minister that his ministers are holding an official meeting outside Lucknow. The move is the latest among a series of measures by the Chief Minister to hype up the festival, which is among the world's largest religious gatherings, at Prayagraj.
