Senior journalist MK Venu tweets: Retd Gen Ashok Mehta tells me this will be the shortest captivity of a downed pilot in history. Field Marshall Ayub Khan had offered General Cariappa release of his son, a downed pilot in 1965 war, within a day but he refused saying he didn't want a special favour.
