Tamil Nadu 2019: AIADMK: 28, BJP: 5, PMK: 7

The BJP seals its alliance with the AIADMK for the 2019 polls. Addressing a joint press briefing with Union minister Piyush Goyal, Tamil Nadu Deputy CM O Panneerselvam said the AIADMK and the BJP will have an alliance for Lok Sabha elections which will be a mega and winning alliance. "The BJP will contest on 5 seats in Lok Sabha elections and we will be contesting together in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry," Panneerselvam said. The AIADMK will contest the remainder seats 29 of the 40 seats.


This morning, the BJP-AIADMK combine beat the Congress to win the support of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) for an electoral alliance in Tamil Nadu. The PMK will contest on six Lok Sabha seats and will be given one Rajya Sabha seat.



"We will support the AIADMK in the by-elections on the 21 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. We have agreed to contest elections in the leadership of OPS and EPS in the state and in leadership of Modiji at the centre," Piyush Goyal said.
