Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld dead

Legendary Chanel fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has died at the age of 85 after weeks of ill health.

The German-born designer was the creative director of Chanel and has remained one of fashion's most iconic and influential figures.

His trademark dark sunglasses, snow-white ponytail and black leather gloves was marked presence at fashion shows and he has remained one of the prolific designers of our age.
