Guwahati top cop shunted out as city boils over

As Assam continues to be on the boil over CAB protests, Guwahati Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar has been shunted out and replaced by Munna Prasad Gupta, says PTI.

Other transfers include: Assam's additional general of police (Law and Order) Mukesh Agarwal has been transferred as ADGP (CID) and GP Singh appointed in his place.

Meanwhile, internet services in Assam have been suspended for another 48 hours, beginning from 12 noon today: Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Political) Kumar Sanjay Krishna said.
