This bill is not anti-Muslim: Shah on CAB

Shah's reply to debate in Rajya Sabha continues:

On question of Sri Lankan Tamils are not included in this Bill, he said, "8-9 lakh Tamils from Sri Lanka were given Indian citizenship in past."

Shiv Sena supported citizenship bill in Lok Sabha, what changed overnight that they are now opposing it, asked Shah.

He assured Sikkim that it will 'continue to enjoy rights under Article 371, there will be no dilution'.

This bill is to give citizenship, not to take away citizenship; Citizenship of Indian Muslims not being taken away, Shah said, assuring the minorities.

Neither citizenship bill, nor triple talaq bill nor bill scrapping Article 370 are anti-Muslim, said Shah in Rajya Sabha. -- PTI
