Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressing a press conference on the economy. She begins the conference saying there are 32 slides compartmentalised into six sections.

Sitharaman says India still the fastest growing economy. Global growth is weak at 3.2 per cent. India's growth more than US, China.

She says India's reforms will continue and despite weak global cues the Indian economy is performing better than other countries.

India will move from the prosecution route to a more humane route in terms of tax collection and scrutiny.

Nirmala Sitharaman underscores PM Modi's Independence Day 'we respect wealth creators' statement, and says that is the philosophy with which Budget was presented and says there will be faceless scrutiny for income tax after Dussehra, October 8.
