Both pleas by Chidambaram to be heard on Monday

Kapil Sibal says the Delhi HC judgment is verbatim of what is in the ED note. "Comma for comma, full stop for full stop. Everything is a copy, so the note becomes the basis of denying bail to Chidambaram," Sibal tells teh court.  


SG Tushar Mehta says, "CBI had statements from Indrani Mukherjea stating that Peter Mukherjea and Indrani Mukherjea went to meet P Chidambaram and were told that FIPB approvals will be given. 


"We have evidence in electronic form to show that there was an "exchange" of money and money was transferred through money laundering. There were shell companies creates overseas by people close to P Chidambaram.


"We are opposing bail on concrete grounds. The High Court judge has gone through the case diary and then passed the order," the Solicitor Generalsaid in the Supreme Court.


The SG also said that they have traced the money trail. "There are 10 properties abroad. 17 bank accounts in other countries. With the strength of the people behind us, we can confront him saying these are your men. Persons behind shell cos have executed wills in favour of Chidambaram's granddaughter, but destroyed it."


The SC has also adjourned the hearing of Chidambaram's plea against ED arrest till Monday. Which means the ex-FM cannot be arrested till the hearing on Monday.  


The SC also adjourned Chidambaram's plea against custodial interrogation by the CBI till Monday.
