Swearing-in of Karnataka cabinet begins

Karnataka cabinet is being sworn in. KS Eshwarappa (pictured), takes oath as Karnataka Cabinet Minister, in Bengaluru, followed by CN Ashwath Narayan and Govind M Karjol.  


Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa received the go-ahead from BJP national president Amit Shah to undertake the exercise today. "The BJP legislative party meeting will be held on Tuesday 10 am at the Conference Hall, Vidhana Soudha. And the cabinet expansion will take place on the same day post noon," Yediyurappa tweeted yesterday. The chief minister further tweeted that mostly all the new ministers will be sworn in by noon on Tuesday.


News agency PTI had said that there was a possibility that 13 ministers would take the oath Tuesday against the approved strength of 34 and that the rest of the positions would be filled later.
