Azad's 'sellout' barb on NSA Doval's J-K visit

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad is set to travel to Srinagar today, but is likely to be sent back from the airport.

When asked about pictures of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval interacting with locals in Shopian yesterday, Azad snapped back, "Paise dekar aap kisiko bhi saath le sakte ho. Anyone will back you for money."

Yesterday, the National Security Advisor reviewed the security situation at a meeting attended by senior security officials in Shopian, J-K, even as Parliament passed a resolution abrogating Article 370. Doval directed the officials to ensure that common people do not face any hardships in the wake of the recent development pertaining to the state. He also spoke to locals and ate at food stall. He reached out to the local population in the as a confidence building measure, and told them, "Everything will be alright. Your safety and security is our responsibility."
