Jaitley heads to US for World Bank meeting, Nirmala steps in at briefings

Union finance minister Arun Jaitley has left for the US to attend the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC.

The meeting will be held from April 12-14 and will be Jaitleys first official overseas trip since his kidney transplant in mid-May last year.


Meanwhile, Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman has been asked to interact with the media every day. During the absence of Arun Jaitley, she  will attend the 11 am daily briefings by party president Amit Shah at the BJP headquarters, which she will later share with the media.
