BSP chief Mayawati has announced that the party will contest the Rajasthan and Madnya Pradesh assembly polls alone; there will be no alliance with the Congress.

She said the Congress, like the BJP, is conspiring to finish off the BSP. "They (Congress) are getting arrogant and are under the misconception that they can defeat the BJP on their own, but the ground reality is that people haven't forgiven the Congress party for their mistakes and corruption. They don't seem to be ready to rectify themselves," Mayawati said.

However, she said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi's intentions for a Congress-BSP alliance were honest. "But some Congress leaders are sabotaging this. Digvijaya Singh who is also a BJP agent is giving statements that Mayawatiji has a lot of pressure from Centre so she doesn't want this alliance. This is baseless. Digvijaya Singh does not wish for a Congress-BSP alliance. They are afraid of agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI, she said.

She said in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh, the BSP had tied up with a regional party. "We may go with regional parties there but certainly not with the Congress," she read out in a statement.

Mayawati had earlier announced that the BSP will tie up with Ajit Jogi's party for the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls

A survey conducted by C-Voter and ABP news has predicted that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party would lose all three upcoming Assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan to the Congress.
