Just in: A five judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra reserved its judgement on the Aadhaar matter. Several appeals were filled challenging the constitutional validity of Aadhaar. Petitioners submitted to the Court that multiple data breaches from government portals have increased Aadhaar's status as a "universal unique identifier."

The Centre has argued that Aadhaar data is safe and cannot be breached and said no one will be left out if they don't have Aadhaar. Petitioners argued Aadhaar cannot remain as law.

This is the second longest hearing in the SC -- a marathon 38 days spread over three-and-a-half-months. The longest hearing is the Keshavananda Bharti case.

The verdict is expected around July end or August. More details awaited.
