Encounter breaks out in Srinagar, one terrorist killed

An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Srinagar this morning, police said, in which one terrorist was killed.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Tabela Chattabal in Safakadal following inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, a police official said.
"The search operation turned into an encounter after the hiding terrorists fired upon the search party of the security forces, who retaliated," the official said.
At least one terrorist was killed in the ensuing gunfight.
"The gunfight is still on," the official said, adding that further details were awaited. -- PTI, ANI
