Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Saroj Pandey has won the Rajya Sabha Election from Chhattisgarh.

Pandey defeated Congress's Lekhram Sahu.

However, the counting of votes have been stopped in Karnataka while in Uttar Pradesh counting is yet to begin.

Counting of votes for the Rajya Sabha election has been halted in Karnataka after the Janata Dal-Secular accused two Congress legislators of being allowed to cast their vote twice.

A ballot agent had asked the legislators to cast their vote again after they showed their ballot paper to the agent.

Returning officers are waiting for the Election Commission's instructions.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samajwadi Party have asked from the Election Commission to declare votes of BJP's Nitin Agrawal and BSP's Anil Singh invalid alleging that they did not show their ballot paper to the polling agent.

Singh, earlier, indicated that he had cross-voted in favour of the BJP in the Rajya Sabha polls, saying "I am with Maharaj-ji", referring to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
