A criminal complaint has been filed against senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad for making seditious statements against the Indian Army.  Besides Azad, senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz has also been named in the compliant.

The complaint has been filed in Delhi's Patiala House Court by one Shashi Bhushan.

In his complaint, Bhushan has accused the two Congress leaders of "making seditious statement in order to incite disaffection in the mind of the people against Indian Army and Government of India".

Azad had sparked a controversy when he said Army operations in the state killed more civilians than terrorists. Soz had created a furore by toeing the line taken by former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Kashmir. Speaking to news agency ANI, Soz said that given a choice, Kashmiris would prefer to be independent.
