Pakistan becoming safe haven for terrorism: Nikki Haley

United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who is on a three-day visit to India, on Thursday stated that Pakistan is becoming a safe haven for terrorists.
She said that even though Pakistan is a partner to the United States, terrorism operating on the Pakistan soil would not be tolerated by them.
"We share a commitment to defeating terrorism and the hateful ideology that motivates it. The US values Pakistan as a partner but we cannot tolerate the state becoming a haven for terrorists and hope to see a change," Haley said.
Earlier in the day, Haley met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, and both the leaders held a discussion on various topics like UN reforms, counter-terrorism and leadership roles of women in India.
On Wednesday, Haley had called on Prime Minister Modi and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, including on counter-terrorism.
They expressed confidence that strong India-US partnership would continue to be an important factor for global peace and prosperity. The 46-year-old diplomat, who is the highest-ranked Indian-American in US President Donald Trump's administration, last visited India in 2014, when she was the South Carolina Governor. -- ANI
