1 feared dead as chartered plane crashes in Mumbai

To recap, a chartered King Air C90 plane belonging to the Uttar Pradesh government has crashed at Sarvodaya Nagar in Ghatkopar in suburban Mumbai.

Early reports say that the plane was carrying around eight passengers and crashed at around 1:30 pm.

One person is believed to be dead and several injured. At least five fire engines are at the spot, which is near an under-construction building in Ghatkopar. Fire brigade personnel are attempting to rescue passengers stuck inside the plane which is on fire. Several reports point to a passenger on fire.

Police, fire brigade and disaster management teams rushed to the spot, Akhilesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-7) told PTI.
