Rajya Sabha MP Amit Shah speaking on the NRC as the house erupts in an uproar with Congress MPs storming the well of the house. Rajya Sabha chairperson Venkaiah Naidu admonishes the MPs saying it the Rajya Sabha was the house of elders and they were making a mockery of the democracy. "God save democracy," a hassled Naidu said requesting MPs repeatedly to return to their seats.

This is what Amit Shah said in the house: 'Rajiv Gandhi signed the Assam accord in 1985, which was nothing but the NRC. They did not have courage to implement it, we did. NDA did what UPA could not do."

Congress MPs protest in the well of the house and the house was adjourned for 10 minutes.
