PM leaves for Africa

And off he goes on his 42nd trip. The PM is now travelling to Rwanda.

Narendra Modi will undertake a state visit to three African countries, namely Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa, over five days, starting today.

The Prime Minister will first arrive at Rwanda, marking the first ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister, a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said.


In his 48 months as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi made 41 trips to over 50 countries, at a total cost of Rs 355 crore.  He was abroad for a cumulative 165 days, according to an RTI reply submitted to the Prime Ministers Office by activist Bhimappa Gadad.
