The Mumbai police on Monday served a notice on Ajit Navle, secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha, to neither organise nor participate in any protest supporting the demands of Swabhimani Shetkari Sangathna.

Swabhimani Shetkari Sangtana is a Kolhapur-based farmers' organisation that has demanded a price hike for milk farmers and has threatened to block milk supply in Mumbai.

Navle has been served a notice under Section 149 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in the wake of protests against milk supply to Mumbai and other cities

In case of any protests, Navle will be held responsible and detained by the police.

Earlier, in March, a protest by the All India Kisan Sabha had around 30,000 farmers walking with blistered feet for about 180 km from Nashik to Mumbai to demand a loan waiver.
