Arun Jaitley will return as Finance Minister after a three-month break for surgery, a statement from the President's office said today.

Jaitely, 65, stopped attending office in April for a renal transplant operation on May 14.

In his absence, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal held charge of his ministry.

Jaitley had earlier this month (confirm) attended parliament for a vote for the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha.

A press communique confirming the same said, " The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to Shri Arun Jaitley."
