A repeat of what happened in the Rajya Sabha yesterday.

Once again, the opposition led by the Congress has blocked the remainder of BJP MP Amit Shah's speech from yesterday on the NRC.

Chairperson Venkaiah Naidu opened the day saying he was very upset yesterday when some members ran 'menacingly' towards the well of the house. "I hope it will not be repeated. I don't want to name anybody, but the house should function smoothly." He also reminded the members that the chairperson has the right to adjourn the house.

He then invited Shah to conclude his speech which had been disrupted yesterday.

Congress MP Anand Sharma said if Shah speaks the Congress will stage a walkout.

The House has now been adjourned till noon after continued ruckus.

Yesterday, the BJP President hit out at the erstwhile UPA governments charging the Congress with not having the courage to identify illegal migrants in Assam, an exercise which was to be conducted as part of the accord signed by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1985.

He sought to know whether the Congress wanted to protect the illegal Bangladeshis in the eastern state.

Participating in a discussion on the issue of National Register of Citizens in Assam in the Rajya Sabha, Shah said the exercise was conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
