Commuters using the London underground rail were reportedly injured in an explosion at the Parsons Green station in west London, reports the Independent. Transport for London said the District Line was partially suspended because of a "security alert". No reports yet on whether it was a bomb explosion. There is a large number of immigrants residing at Parsons Green.

A picture on social media shows a bucket inside a bag, but does not appear to show extensive damage in the carriage. The BBC reports that witnesses have described seeing passengers with facial injuries. Some commuters said that a fireball 'flew' threw the train.

Others have spoken of "panic" as passengers left the train at Parsons Green station in the Fulham area of the capital.

The Metropolitan Police said they were aware of the incident but could not provide further information. Details awaited.
