Omar Abdullah congratulates Nirmala Sitharaman

Former Jammu-Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was one of the first to extend his wishes to India's first female Defence Minister after Indira Gandhi -- Nirmala Sitharaman.

He wrote on Twitter, "Wow, straight from MoS (independent charge) to a seat at the Cabinet Committee on Security. Amazing trajectory. Well done @nsitharaman ji."

Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi also congratulated Sitharaman on her elevation to Cabinet rank.

In a Twitter post, Bedi praised her and said, "Proud of her. She is brilliant in her work. She has earned her way thru every bit. @nsitharaman Wish her the best."
