Veteran classical singer Girija Devi passes away in Kolkata due to cardiac arrest, reports ANI.

All India Radio tweeted, 'Thumri exponent Girija Devi passes away; she was a representative of Benaras and Seniya gharana.'

'Colossal loss for Indian music. Girija Devi ji, Appaji to her family and followers, passes away. Irreparable loss (sic),' tweeted singer Shubha Mudgal.
