The name's Yadav. Bhupender Yadav, and he is a close confidante of BJP chief Amit Shah and is heading the party's poll campaign in Gujarat.

He has become the go-to man for the party with Union Ministers vying for his attention.

In fact, party insiders have been likening him to Nanaji Deshmukh, the Sangh Parivar veteran and the former Rajya Sabha member, who passed away recently.

Narendra Modi wanted Yadav as a Union Minister, but Amit Shah has refused to spare him till after the Gujarat polls.

Yadav is in eight committees of the Rajya Sabha; a quiet politician from Rajasthan, who has been a key organisational leader, who played an important role in UP polls.

It was Arun Jaitley who groomed him as Spokesperson of the BJP during the UPA regime.
