President Kovind may opt for Gita, Ramayana as gifts

President Ram Nath Kovind will not be presenting models of the Taj Mahal to visiting foreign dignitaries. The President's estate has been quietly told that instead, they should consider the possibility of gifting the the Bhagwad Gita or the Ramayana to visiting dignitaries.


Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has recently said that the Taj Mahal has no connection with India's culture or heritage.


But in fact, the PM has gifted King Salman of Saudi Arabia a gold-plated replica of the first mosque in India, the Cheraman Juma Masjid built in 629 AD.For Japan's PM Shinzo Abe and Emperor Akihito the PM had carried copies of the Gita.
