NGT slams Amarnath board for poor infrastructure

The National Green Tribunal raps the Amarnath Shrine Board for not providing proper infrastructural facilities to pilgrims. The NGT has now formed a committee of experts headed by additional secretary of the External Affairs ministry to submit a action plan on providing facilities to pilgrims. The committee shall submit a report on aspects like providing proper path, cleanliness in the area near the shrine after inspection. The NGT also directs the Shrine Board to submit status report on compliance of directions issued by the court in 2012 and asks the committee to file a status report in the first
week of December.
