MARD (The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors) files an affidavit in court saying they're ready for duty but want surety of safety from government and administration.

The Bombay HC also orders the government to provide security at govt hospitals for doctors, so they can work without fear. The court will hear the matter after 15 days. The court has ordered the doctors on strike to resume duties and give some time to the government for providing them proper security.

MARD's decision to withdraw the strike will come as a huge relief to patients.

Just last night, a resident doctor at Mumbai's Sion Hospital was beaten up by the family of a baby admitted to the neo-natal unit of the hospital. A police complaint has been filed against three women, news agency ANI reported.
