UPDATE: PM leads Yoga Day celebrations in Lucknow, thousands join him

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the 3rd International Yoga Day celebrations from Ambedkar Sabha Sthal in Lucknow.

Around 50,000 people are attending the event, among them Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the key ministers of his cabinet.

Dressed in a white T-shit and pants, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people from the stage he shared with Yogi Adityanath. "I pay my respect and welcome all Yoga lovers present here and all those performing Yoga in various corners of the world. Today, yoga has become a part of so many lives. Yoga's popularity out of India is high and has connected the world with India," he said.
