Just in: Election Commission briefing on the presidential polls. Term of President Pranab Mukherjee will end on 24 July, says Chief Election Commissioner Naseem Zaidi. Highlights of the briefing.

-- Rs 15,000 security for candidates.
-- The voting will be by secret ballot through a ballot box. EVMs will not be used.
-- Political parties cannot issue any whip to their party-men to be present for voting.
-- The candidature will be null and void if the candidate is found guilty of bribery.
-- The EC notification will be made on June 14.
-- Last date for nominations is June 28.
-- Scrutiny of nominations by June 29.
-- Last date for withdrawal of candidature is July 1.
-- The presidential poll will be held on July 17
-- Counting will be held on July 20
