Nitish Kumar to expand Cabinet today, likely to add more NDA faces

A day after Nitish Kumar won the crucial floor test in the Bihar assembly, securing 131 votes against the oppositions 108, the chief minister is all set to expand his Cabinet on Saturday.

Nitish Kumar will expand his ministry on Saturday evening a Janata Dal-United leader, close to Nitish Kumar said.

According to sources, about 16 to 18 ministers will be inducted in Nitish Kumars cabinet. There may be new faces also.

According to sources, the faces in Nitishs cabinet wont consists only from the JD-U and the BJP, but will also feature a few from BJPs allies -- the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party and the Lok Janshakti Party. 


Nitish Kumar on Wednesday resigned and dumped its allies the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress over corruption charges against former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadaav.

Within three hours after Nitish Kumar resigned, BJP had extended support to him.
