You can't sleep on the job anymore with Smriti as I&B minister

Smriti Irani, the newly minted union minister for Information and Broadcasting is quite the terror as she springs surprise visits to the Doordharshan and All India Radio offices. Staff who are not regular or found to be inattentive have been suspended.
On a Sunday morning, in New Delhi, she told the senior official of Doordarshan to visit her house and thereafter the two left for the Doordharshan HQ at Delhi's Mandi House.
In Doordarshan, she walked into a technical room and found a senior official taking a nap. The minister whipped out her phone and took a photograph and then asked the official to wake up only to be told he was being suspended.
She has also ordered an internal inquiry by the Additional Secretary to the Government and asked for report on any irregularities in Doordarshan. She also plans to have surprise checks during her visits to the state capitals. Beware!
