Nitish Kumar to take oath as CM tomorrow at 5 pm

Two hours after Nitish Kumar resigned as CM on Wednesday, BJP has announced its support to Nitish Kumar to form the next government.

Most of the BJP's MLAs reached 1 Anne Marg, the official residence of chief minister Nitish Kumar for a joint meeting with JD-U MLAs on late Wednesday night and Nitish Kumar is likely to submit a list of support of MLAs to the governor.

BJP has already sent a letter of support to Nitish Kumar to the Governor. 

Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said that Nitish Kumar will be elected leader at the joint meeting late tonight.

Nitish Kumar's party the Janata Dal United has 71 lawmakers in the 243-member Bihar assembly. With the support of the BJP's 53, he will have 124, just over the halfway mark he needs. 

Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar jolted the Grand Alliance when he announced that he was quitting as the chief minister.
