Pakistan on Monday summoned Indias Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh after one civilian was killed and three others injured in alleged ceasefire violations across the Line of Control by Indian troops.

The Foreign Office claimed that Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing on Leepa Sector on July 21 which killed Umair and injured three civilians in Gheekot village.

The Director General, Dr Mohammad Faisal, summoned Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces, it said.

The deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws, Mr. Faisal said.

He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
