NIA to probe Kanpur and Kuneru train derailments

The National Investigation Agency to probe derailment of trains in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and in Kuneru, Andhra Pradesh.

Hinting at the possibility of sabotage in the recent spate of train derailments, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had written to Home Minister Rajnath Singh seeking a detailed probe by the National Investigating Agency into the incidents.

At least 150 people were killed when the Patna-Indore Express derailed in Kanpur while 40 people were killed and over 65 injured after the Hirakhand Express went off the rails in Andhra Pradeshs Vizianagaram district near Kuneru station.
